Is PokerPals Gambling?

PokerPals organises league-based pub poker tournaments. In most PokerPals leagues, there is no direct cash buy-in or cash prize. Players compete for league points and seasonal rankings. This distinguishes PokerPals from real-money gambling.

However, we recognise that poker is a game of chance and skill, and for some individuals it can become problematic. We take this seriously.

Warning Signs

Be aware of these signs of problem gambling:

• Spending more time or money on gambling than intended
• Chasing losses or trying to win back money
• Lying to family or friends about gambling habits
• Neglecting work, education, or family responsibilities
• Borrowing money or selling possessions to gamble
• Feeling anxious, stressed, or depressed related to gambling
• Losing interest in previously enjoyed activities

Self-Exclusion

If you feel you need a break from PokerPals, you can:

• Deactivate your account by contacting us at support@joinpokerpals.co.uk
• Ask your venue league organiser to temporarily remove you from the league
• Use the GAMSTOP service for broader self-exclusion from online gambling

Under 18s

PokerPals is not intended for anyone under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect data from individuals under 18. If we become aware that an under-18 user has registered, we will delete their account and data immediately.
